When do I pay what in advance and how?

To fulfill the booking we expect you to pay 30% in advance on our bank account on following account address.

Please send us the bank invoice by fax or email to us. The rest 70% you pay upon arrival at the destination.

When is the booking complete?

If you want a package, you simply mail your request to us with your date of arrival. We will send you an invoice and after we receive the 30% advanced payment, the booking is done. Adventure Neapal Hiking Treks & Expedition accepts all kinds of payments. The rest 70% you pay upon arrival at the destination.

In case of no show
In case of no-show, you lose the 15% of advanced payment.

What if I have a special request?

If you want something else besides the mentioned programme, you simply send an email from 'the request form' with your special desires. We will send you an offer, which you will have to confirm. After the advanced payment of 30% the booking would be in process..

Time and business hours

Nepal is five hours 45 minutes ahead of GMT. Government offices are open from 9 am to 5 pm. From Monday to Friday.

Embassies and International organizations are open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Most shops open after 10 am and close at about 8 pm and are usually close on Saturday.

Although, Nepal works six days a week only. It observes numerous holidays, at the least a couple a month. So, please check the holidays in calendar.

Visas & Passports

A visa is required to enter to Nepal except for Indian nationals. One can get a visa at the Royal Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or at the Kathmandu airport upon arrival. Children under 10 need not to pay any visa fees. Two passport size photos are mandatory.

  • 01. Single entry visa: US$ 30 for 60 days
  • 02. Additional re-entry cost: US$ 25 for single/ $40 for double/ $60 for multiple.
  • 03. Visitor who intend to re-enter the country within 150 days after leaving the country during the same visa year, entry visa fee is US$ 50 for 30 days.
  • 04. Visitors intending to stay more than 60 days, tourist visa extension fee is U$ 50 for the 30 days.
  • 05. Business visa (with multiple entry) can be obtained from the department of immigration for the period of one year and the five year upon the recommendation of the ministry of industry by paying the equivalent of U$ 100 and 250 respectively for the foreign investors.

  • Foreign exchange:

    Foreign currencies are advised to be exchanged through the Banks, authorized Hotel reception counters or authorized foreign dealers. The receipts from such transaction are to be obtained and retained. Visitors can also exchange money at the foreign exchange counter at the Airport upon arrival. The US$ exchange rate is 1 US$ = Rs. 70.65 from dated 27th July, 2000. Under the present system the open market exchange rates might be different due to the market situation

    Money & Credit cards

    It is illegal to exchange foreign currency with individuals and organizations other then authorized dealers (banks, hotels and licensed money changers). In order to change surplus rupees at the time of departure from Nepal, Please make sure that you have saved your encashment receipts, which you must produce for the exchange A bank located at the airport departure lounge helps you in this process.

    Exchange rates are published in English dailies such as The Rising Nepal and The Kathmandu Post. Nepalese rupees are found in denominations of 1000, 500, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, 1. Coins are found in the denominations of 10, 25, and 50 paisa. One rupee equals 100 paisa.

    Credit Cards:

    AMERICAN EXPRESS, VISA AND MASTER CARD are welcomed at major hotels, restaurants, carpet and curio shops throughout the country. The local services centers for credit cards are: Alpine Travel Service at Durbar Marg (Tel.225020,225362) for visa and Master Card, American Express in Jamal (Tel. 226172, 227635) for American Express Cards and checks. These centers are open Monday through Friday 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM. Contact them for any service regarding credit cards including replacement of lost cards.

    Getting around

    AIRPORT BUS

    An airport Tourist bus now shuttles passengers between Tribhuwan International Airport and downtown Kathmandu.

    CITY BUS

    There are many buses and mini buses available at Ratnapark (Old bus park) which depart to different destinations in the valley. There is also a Trolley Bus Service which starts at Tripureswor and runs along the Arniko High way and ends at Suryabinayak.. Bus services operate from early morning (5,6 am) till 8/9 Pm.

    RICKSHAWS

    These gaudily painted slow moving honking rickshaws are part of the Kathmandu city scene. They are large tricycles with two seats in the back covered by a hood; a man pedals up front.

    TAXIS

    Taxis are available to go most places in the Kathmandu Valley. They have black registration plates with white numbers; private cars have white numbers on red plates. Make sure their meters are working and, be prepared to pay according to meter.

    PRIVATE TRANSPORT

    Much more reliable are private hired from any travel agency. They are more comfortable and will wait until you have done your sightseeing, or driving long distance.

    BICYCLES

    Bicycling is one of the best ways of exploring the town and valley. Many shops in the old part of Kathmandu and near the main hotels have Indian and Chinese bicycles for hire.

    MOTORBIKES

    It is possible to hire Japanese, Indian and Taiwanese motorbikes by the hour or day from the renting shops.

    Communications

    The General Post Office( 227499) is located near Dharahara Tower and is open from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday. Stamps, aerograms and postcards may be purchased from 7 am to 7 pm at the counters. Services like registration and insurance of mail and small package. Parcels can be sent and received through the foreign Post Office next door. It is open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

    The Nepal Telecommunication Corporation Office located at Tripureswor provides ISD, STD, telex, fax, and telegraph services. Private communication centers and hotels also provide ISD, STD and fax services. The STD code for Nepal is 00 977.
