Day 1. Besishar
Drive out from Kathmandu to Besishar early in
the morning by bus
Day 2. Bahundanda
Beshishar to Bahundanda (Hill of the Brahmins)
1,310m :
Along the route the trail follows a stream and
climba to Denauti then ove slippery rocks into
the Marshyandi Khola, Khudi, Bhulbule, Nagdi Lampa
are interesting to see.
Day 3. Chamje
Bahundanda to Chamje (1430m):
The trek goes through beautiful scenery, beautiful
waterfalls, forests full of birds and villages
occupied by Tibetan Heritage teahouses. Guesthouses
are available at Chamje
Day 4. Bagarchap
Chamje to Bagarchap (2160m):
It is a village of Tibetan architecture. A well-maintained
Diki Gompa is a famous place to see
Day 5. Chame
Bagarchap to Chame (2630m):
This is a nice camping place and district headquarters
of the Manang. Police check, schools, health post,
post office, Bank wireless station are there with
the facility of electricity. Annapurna II 7,937m
IV 7,525m, Langtang Himal 6,986 are visible
Day 6. Pisang
Chime to Pisang(3,190m):
The trail goes through a Khampa settlement
known as Bartang which is nowadays abandoned.
One maw has a glimpse of the stone memorial for
a Japanese climber who died in an avalanche while
crossing th Throng La Pass. Pisang peak Annapurna
II and other natural beauties are breathtaking.
Day 7. Manang
Pisang to Manang (3535m):
A dry place known a Nyseyang 5000, fertile for
wheat barley, potatoes, beans, horses are the
means of transportation. Life standard is better
at Manag Tilicho Lake at 7123m. Here one can buy
medicines, trekking equipment and warm clothes
if required.
Day 8. Manang
Rest at manang: An acclimatize
day. There is good opportunity to climb to the
north ridge of the village for the view of Annapurna
II & IV Glacier Dome and other excellent scenarios.
Day 9. Letder
Manang to Letder (Churi Latter):
The trail crosses a stream, climbs to Tengi and
continues to Marshyandi valley. Gunsahg, Yak Kharkha
and Letder are next to last shelter before the
pass
Day 10. Throng Phedi
Letder to Throng Phedi:
A wooden bridge at 4310m is crossed to reach Throng
Phedi (4420m). Sometimes snow can block the pass.
In such a situation, this place is crowded. Usually
people schedule a three a.m. departure for the
ascent on the pass, which is not necessary. The
ideal departure is 4-5 a.m.
Day 11. Muktinath
Throng Phedi to Muktinath(3800m):
During the bad season during Dec. to Jan. there
are very few chances to cross Throng La Pass due
to the cold and unexpectable storm
Day 12. Jomsom
Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m):
The trail descends to Jomsom, this is a nice place
from where the risk can be shorten by flight.
There is an airport at Jomsom for a flight to
Kathmandu
Day 13. Kalopani
Jomsom to kalopani(2530m) :
The trek becomes easier as the trail follows a
decent, the natural beauties are unforgettable.
One may enjoy along the route the views of Dhaulagiri,
Nilgiri, Fang, Annapurna I and so on.
Day 14. Tatopani
Kalopani to Tatopani(1689m):
Tatopani means 'hot water' in Nepal. Thus, this
village gains the name Tatopani from spring.
Day 15. Tatopani
Tatopani Rest Day :
This is more facilitated spot and there are moderate
hotels and guest offering good accommodation.
In addition, electricity is already there.
Day 16. Ghorepani
Tatopani to Ghorepani
Day 17. Tadapani
Ghorepani to Tadapani
Day 18 Ghandrung
Tadapani to Ghandrung
Day 19. Pokhara
Ghandrung to Dhampus and Pokhara
Day 20. Kathmandu
Back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
